anyone else get scammed by buying swap magic for ps2?

yea I have a ps3 and an oldschool ps2 so i thought i would try to mod my old ps2 as i was quite pleased with myself when i jailbroke my ps3 (3.55.1 REBUG)

So i looked around the internet for mod chips which i dicovered are very rare nowadays and if you can find them onlone its not worth it to buy for an old PS2 so then i came accross Swap magic (www.swapmagic3.com) Check it out it seemed pretty legit to me

so i convinced my grandma to let me use her credit card and i ordered it online. about two weeks later i get my swap magic and tried to play a burned copy of GTA vice city (great game by the way)
and it did work but what a fucking joke the game takes like half hour to even load to where tommy is in the alley then once you start playing all it does is lag. is there anyone who has this product or any game burning tips to make th game run faster?
