How Come My Leopard Gecko Can See Red?

I thought they were nocturnal and cannot see red or blue light this is why they sell these red and blue heat bulbs.

It is true because my leopard gecko is always active as i keep a red infrared light on 24 hours.

But just yesterday i was just teasing around my leopard gecko with a laser pointer, and he was trying to eat the dot thinking it was food and he was chasing it around.

Then i noticed my laser pointer is RED. How come he saw that????
