is my psp bricked, if so how did it happen?

I know that a bricked psp is when the psp turns on and the screen is black but for me its like my psp turns on fine, then the light on it flickers then the screen goes black, also, for some reason my sound button acts ups too, for example when the light is flickering the psp will mute itself then unmute itself a bunch of times. Is this like being bricked to where i have to buy the whole pandora battery thing or is my psp just fried. Btw i have a psp 3000 and it’s an hand me down so it’s not exactly new but it hasn’t really been dropped and when i did drop it (about three or four times) is didn’t mess up, at all. It’s been at least four months since i’ve dropped it. Also, i haven’t downloaded anything except for one demo for a game and my house doesn’t have the right internet to support the psp so i havent updated it either.
