Modded PSX plays ONLY copied games?

Modded PSX plays ONLY copied games?

So I’ve been enjoying playing some old-school psx games for the last few weeks, as I came across a big old collection of copied games.

However I decided to go purchase some originals for a collection, and every single original game I’ve tried in the playstation won’t work.. But every copied game (even if they’re scratched to death) will work..

I think it may have something to do with the mod chip, but if anyone knows a fix, please let me know.
