So, about the SD card slot in the 3DS?

OK, so at the moment I have a DS lite and I use this with an r4 card which I have downloaded some games onto. However, I’m probably going to buy a 3DS soon and I know my R4 won’t work on it. I know you can get r4 cards for the 3DS but I’m just wondering if there’s any way I can put the games I’ve already downloaded onto an SD card and use this like an R4? Thanks.
Sorry, I didn’t describe that very well because I was in a rush. What I meant to say was my R4 will not work on a 3DS so I’m asking if it would be possible to say, download the software for the R4 for 3DS onto an SD card and add the games that I have on my R4 at the moment to the SD card. I’m not asking if I could put the SD card into the game slot or anything stupid like that lol.
