what is the best wii mod chip?

im thinking of putting in a wii modchip. what is the best one?I want it to be able to play backups and to play out of region games.i don’t want it to block wii system updates either. i was thing something like the D2Sun wii mod chip but can play all out of region games. any suggestions?
i know there is softmodding but id dont want to take the chance to brick my wii.
