what\’s wrong with my wii remote?

i was playing a game and then my remote (wiimote) died. so, of course, i put it on the charger and let it charge for one night. the light was blue when i put it on. the next day, i checked on it, all seemed normal, the charging light was green. i put in the nunchuck and turned it on. the battery was completely dead. i don’t understand what happened! i tried it three more times and it’s STILL dead. any suggestions? i’m completely clueless. (the game was naruto clash of ninja revolution 2, if it helps any.)
